Fighting With A Platoon

EazE’s Merger

EazE has decided to merge with Death Before Dishonor. They are a very serious platoon and we have been fighting hard side-by-side. Nowadays, my KDr is dropping drastically but I would rather win rounds. Hopefully, I can be drafted in some matches they have arranged.

Having xMontayy sure is fun. We always try to stick together and complement each other’s strengths. Our SEN (formerly known as PSN) friend list are steadily growing with more people from Australia.

Loving The New Rifle

Playing Assault allows me to indulge on variety of rifles. I have tried M416 and it just rips enemies apart. I tried FAMAS and it sure is good. I am now working on AEK-971. Not doing too good but I will be playing a lot more TDM with it soon enough.

Tank Gunner Etiquettes

I know you can see these ‘BATTLEFIELD 3′ tips all over the internet but people still do not follow. This is why tank drivers hate noisy gunners because they do nothing but reveal our position (most of them).

Get These Into Your Head

  1. Always respect the tank driver
  2. Remember that the class you choose is pretty much useless if you do not have a repair tool
  3. When the tank driver is repairing, do not just hijack the bloody vehicle unless you are an engineer
  4. Stop spraying lead all over because you are revealing our tank position
  5. Do not bother shooting at jets. Please mount the AA gun if you are itching to shoot one down

I always roll my eyes when gunners who offer no such benefits shoot everywhere then bail out when we go head-to-head with a tank. Recently, I rolled in T-90A in Caspian Border. Sensing that US faction will counter-attack with armour, I hid the tank behind a big rock to make some repairs. Just when I started repairing, my tank moved off! Found out that it was driven by my recon gunner, a LANCE CORPORAL 2! True enough, he was contacted by two M1 Abrams and he died in flames. I whipped out my RPG to take out a remaining tank before sending a PM to my former gunner. “HAHA”, was what I typed and he quit after we won.

Know Your Tank Role

I have no qualms riding as a gunner or in a CITV station. I know I have a job to do when the tank is damaged. I will be the one to repair it. Ask my virtual platoon-mates of EazE and they will make fun of the quote, “Man the main gun!”, as I exit the MBT so that the tank can continuously send shell salvo on enemy. Our roles switch but it is for the good of the team. Ability to switch roles offer greater survivability and flexibility to turn the game around. This is especially critical when you play Rush.

Starting To Like EazE

I have been playing with xMontaay and leonidas300300 a lot and I have to admit that it is getting interesting. Too bad KENJI139 and I have to rotate shifts on our PS3. I promised my brother that once I move out, I will get myself a set so that we have a chance to play together. Us, the EazE gamers. I bet it will be so much fun when four of us get on the same team, let alone squad. We still will go head-to-head against each other because I realise that this is a good way to train ourselves too.

Judging from EazE’s active roster, this is how I rate ourselves:

  1. leonidas300300
  2. KENJI139
  3. xMontayy
  4. fir_nev

I Love My New Wife

Adapting To Your Rifle (BF3)

My Issued Rifle

When I was in National Service, I had a wife. I was assigned an M16 throughout my service. My batch was not issued with SAR-21 yet.

Runnin’ and Gunnin’

I first saw leonidas300300 when we played together in Conquest during the early days of ‘BATTLEFIELD 3′. He is a fast Assault. The video shows it all in his channel:

There are faster players than me and he is one of them. I like to flank but my disregard for suppressor costs me as I always reveal my position. I tried and I fell in love immediately with Engineer’s silenced M4A1. leon‘s favourite weapon is the M416 which is the most balanced according to him. Now, I am trying M27 IAR to run and gun as a support. Time to change my shooting style and I should be able to be a complete infantry!

Smart Tank Play

BATTLEFIELD 3

BATTLEFIELD 3

I swear by my proximity scan, zoom optics and coaxial LMG. I have come across players who now use reactive armour, canister shell and guided shell as part of their armament. Then, I had no problem hitting tanks head-to-head because the only perk that can kill was auto-loader. Now, I have to run off-course, zoom in and take out their reactive armour before the real damage is done. Of course, you will have to get your bearings and trajectory right for that first hit. How I had to evolve in tank battles made the difference nowadays.

I admit that my heart pounds whenever there is a warning indicator to say that I am locked on. Waiting for the guided shell to hit me from afar. Stealth with tank is like hiding an elephant. Attack choppers and infantry can always spot you. Below is an example of stealth coupled with loyalty in a tank when fishing out engineers armed with RPG. To ward off Viper was the hardest thing but luckily I finished the round unharmed with my T-90A.

Must… Resist… USAS-12 (BF3)

I just got promoted and I have unlocked USAS-12 automatic shotgun. I told myself to keep fighting with my two trusty LMG and rifle; M240B and M4A1. I must admit that I got killed a lot by players using USAS in infantry-only maps like Operation Metro in conquest rounds. I will stick to my support class; resupplying and providing cover and suppressive fire-power.

Stay True

Win or lose, just stay true to yourself as you know that you are not stooping down to that level for easy kills. I have many good players with assault rifles as their first choice like M416. ‘High-ranking’ players playing USAS and still became feeder in here! I managed to capture Charlie but it did not change the game :\

PTFO Can Cause Upset

My brother, KENJI139, entered a game which was already under way. His team’s tickets were about 50 and the opponents’ were about 140. He had to do something fast to turn the game around. So, he hopped into a T-90A and played the effing objectives despite the great handicap. Guess what? This is the end result.

Results Of Playing BF3 With Clanmates (with Mic)

Go In With Positive Mindset

To get your BF3 clan noticed, you will have to play as one with your online friends anywhere in the world. Constantly plan and adapt to the situation every single minute. The best quote I heard for the day:

We can turn this around. Everything depends on you in the tank, fir_nev” – leonidas300300

Such confidence even with seventy tickets behind when we entered mid-way in the game. We still lost but we gained something intangible. Top two finishes in the team. Our battle report.

Quick preview

Kharg Island's result

In the tank, I told leonidas300300 (who was on a jet) to harass certain flags and provide air cover for me. The conversation can be as simple as this, “Leon, I need you to strafe (the said flag) when airspace is clear. On my way.” Hardcore’s gameplay must be coordinated carefully as friendly fire is on.

Camping Noobs

Few matches later, we were up against a better organised team compared to ours who were about to learn vehicles thus the base camping. I had one tank driver who kept deploying IR smoke and I was blind as a machine gunner while trying to drop enemies. We were tempted to do this:

Play The F***ing Objectives

We however played the objectives and this is the result of our loss. This time, we had xMontayy with us.

When You Give Your All In BF3

BATTLEFIELD 3

I had nothing to do and I decided to play ‘BATTLEFIELD 3′ till late.

Picking Up Where I Left Off

Armed with the knowledge of how I can survive longer as a tank machine gunner (click here for link), I went into a random hardcore conquest server and immediately, I spawned myself on a squad leader who was rolling in a main battle tank. He was talking on his headset and I thought initially that he is a trash-talking gamer. I did what ‘Mr Fix-It’ engineer would do whenever we suffer damages and he started to recognise my efforts. I can see that gamer ‘MTEclipes89‘ is a very competent tank commander. His statistics here show that he has spent considerable amount of time in the MBT. He never leave me behind and I broke my silence after the quote, “Whoops, sorry buddy. C’mon, hop in…” Once we both were on headsets, we were able to coordinate better on when I can help him with the repairs. This is the Noshahr Canals results.

Disconnected Again

The tank crew were enjoying good run. ‘MTEclipes89‘, ‘fir_nev‘ and ‘nude-tojo‘ were searching and destroying infantry, armour and aircrafts alike in Kharg Island. I was talking to him when I froze! Man! I was about to enjoy this armour run.

Normal Rush

I was so frustrated and upon restart, I accepted the invitation from ‘xMontayy‘ and find myself playing rush. On normal mode, I take longer time to kill enemies! I set my mentality ‘gung-ho’ and went all out to arm that very last M-Com but failed in all.

Good HC CQ Run

I invited ‘Shoryu286‘ and we played conquest again. We went 6-4 in our 10-game run. My former colleague struggled to grasp the concept of hardcore again. I was spraying my M240B machine gun like there was no tomorrow. Grabbed myself two MVP in the big maps. We pushed so hard at ‘Operation Firestorm’ that it took us 9 minutes to conclude the whole game. I even did a GTA in my tank by running over few people in the open desert.
